Top 10 best bike under 2 lakh
Here is our pick of the top 10 bikes that cost less than 2 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. The list is not exhaustive and if we’ve managed to miss out on a good one, then it is not intentional.
Bajaj Pulsar 180
One of the most reliable bikes in this segment is the Bajaj Pulsar 180. It has been around for quite some time and is one of the top-selling bikes that Bajaj has in India. Sporty looks, wide seats, good power, acceleration, and lots of luggage space is what makes the Bajaj Pulsar 180 one of the best bike under 2 lakh.

Royal Enfield Himalayan
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is now a known name and since its launch, it has come from under the shadows of quality problems to emerge as one of the best touring bikes in India. The tall demeanor, oodles of space, big tires, large tank capacity, and tourer look are what make it an attractive option. The soft suspension works great on bad roads. However, the overall part quality and power delivery is something that Royal Enfield still needs to work on.

Bajaj Dominar 400
The Bajaj Dominar is a toned-down version of the KTM Duke line-up but still suitable for Indian roads. Having borrowed the KTM engine, Bajaj has managed to deliver a refined bike with enough power to become a formidable touring machine. The Bajaj Dominar boasts stunning looks, attractive color options, a powerful engine, and good riding comfort.

Honda CB350RS
A relatively new bike, the Honda CB350RS is yet to make a name in the market. However, the specs do deliver the promise of another good bike from Honda. The looks seem to have been inspired by the Ducati Monster, but this bike is nothing like the Ducati. Launched as a competition to the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Jawa 42, and the Imperiale 400, the Honda CB350RS is also a promising candidate to be the best bike under 2 lakh.

Honda Hness CB350
Here is another excellent option from Honda, the Honda Hness CB350. I don’t quite know how to pronounce the name, but that doesn’t really matter. What matters is the fact that this bike is competing against the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa Standard, and the Benelli Imperiale 400. Even though it has the same specs as the Honda CB350RS, it is priced 10k lesser than it. Worth checking out.
Power – 20.78 BHP

Cylinders – 1

Transmission – 5 speed

KTM Duke 200
It is one of the meanest machines in the sub-250cc category and you will feel the power with one jolt of the throttle. Originally a street bike, the KTM Duke line-up is extensively used for motorcycle tours in India. It is one of the best buys and for me, tops the list of the best bike under 2 lakh. However, I would always prefer the Duke 390 to the Duke 200.
Power – 25.40 BHP
Torque – 19.5 Nm
Displacement – 199.50 cc
Cylinders – 1
Cooling – Liquid-cooled
Transmission – 6 speed

Tank capacity – 13.5 liters
Approx mileage – 35 kmpl
Ex-showroom cost ~ 1,81,600
Royal Enfield Meteor
It is surprising to see more than one option from Royal Enfield for the best bike under 2 lakh. But the newly launched Royal Enfield Meteor is a value for money product. Look wise it is similar to the Royal Enfield Thunderbird, however, the brand seems to have made some updates to the engines. With plenty of luggage space and mods available, it’s a good bike for those who want to get into motorcycle touring. Excellent for the terrains in Arunachal, Spiti, and Ladakh!
Power – 20.20 BHP
Torque – 27 Nm
Displacement – 349 cc
Cylinders – 1
Cooling – Air or Oil cooled
Transmission – 5 speed

Tank capacity – 15 liters
Approx mileage – 35 kmpl
Ex-showroom cost ~ 1,76,800
Yamaha R15 R3
If you want a sports bike that is within reach of your budget, then the best is the Yamaha R15 V3. With stunning looks and a super-refined engine, the Yamaha R15 has always been an object of affection for bikers. And for good reason too. However, the bike is good for short runs and not suited for motorcycle touring, especially if you have a pillion rider.
Power – 18.37 BHP
Torque – 14.10 Nm
Displacement – 149 cc
Cylinders – 1
Cooling – Liquid-cooled
Transmission – 6 speed
Fuel Delivery – Fuel injection
Tank capacity – 11 liters
Approx mileage – 40 kmpl
Ex-showroom cost ~ 1,51,400
Yamaha FZ25
Mean looks, a gorgeous headlamp, and sufficient power are what Yamaha is counting on with the FZ25. A much-needed upgrade to the FZ 150, the FZ25 has managed to grab a piece of the market share for Yamaha but is it enough? The naked roadster hasn’t got enough to take on the KTM’s but still offers something in comparison to the Bajaj lineup.
Power – 20.51BHP
Torque – 20.10 Nm
Displacement – 249 cc
Cylinders – 1
Cooling – Air-cooled
Transmission – 5 speed
Fuel Delivery – Fuel injection
Tank capacity – 14 liters
Approx mileage – 35 kmpl
Ex-showroom cost ~ 1,54,500
Suzuki Gixxer SF 250
And the last one on our list of the best bike under 2 lakh is the Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF. Powered by a 249cc engine, the Gixxer competes head-on with the Yamaha FZ250 and the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS. However, its late entry into the market hasn’t helped it a bit. But the bike is still a refined machine and suitable for city rides and adventure touring.
Power – 2.13 BHP
Torque – 22.20 Nm
Displacement – 249 cc
Cylinders – 1
