Why we needed the spa?

Everyone knows the rush that comes with traveling. Whether you travel for business or for pleasure, there is always plenty to take care of before, during, and after the trip. Whether you travel by plane, train, or automobile, sitting for extended periods of time is going to take a toll on your body physically. 2020 has been a busy year for us with back to back trips to Wayanad, Assam, Coorg and Coonoor.

The year started on a high but due to our packed schedule, the trips seem to have taken a toll on our bodies. We have lots more travel to do for the year so it was time to slow down and do something to take care of ourselves. Valentine’s Day being around the corner, this time we decided to gift ourselves a Spa Treatment at Tattva Spa located at Novotel Hotel in Bellandur.

Even before the spa we look happy!!

We both thought this was the best gift for us and a much needed one too as off late we have been feeling lots of aches and pains, and have gotten really lethargic! It was time to pay attention to our health and we realized our bodies need some serious fixing hence the idea of a Spa Treatment came up. After a quick search online, we figured that Tattva Spa seemed to have really good reviews, a good selection of massages and their Deep Tissue massage was something we would really want to explore.

At Tattva Spa, when given the choice between a couple vs single rooms we decided to go ahead with couple room because we feel getting a couple massage is one of the most delightful and memorable spa experiences a couple can get. Sharing such a relaxing and memorable occasion provides opportunities for connecting and bonding with your loved one in a unique and meaningful way. It’s also an opportunity to spend quality time that’s all about the two of you.

The Initial Experience

For both of us it was a new experience; something we had never experienced. And that’s why we were both excited as we changed into our bath robes and headed into the massage room. As we lay down, we looked at each other, giggling like school kids; excited about what was to come next. I guess trying new things also adds some spice to a relationship.

Over the next 90 minutes, we felt so relaxed that both of us dozed off. And while we were in a deep state of relaxation, our bodies were being tended to in a really relaxing way. The experienced masseuse delivered the Deep Tissue therapy, which specifically works on deep layers of muscles, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints) in the body.

List of Therapeutic Effects

During the massage the therapists focus on firm pressure and slow strokes that helps with relieving chronic muscle tension. This style of massage reduces knots and scar tissue along the muscle fibers of the back and body, while improving the body’s ability to heal itself. This was exactly what we needed at that moment.

We were also educated that Tattva Spa Deep Tissue Massage has several therapeutic effects and can be used to treat many different conditions such as-

Free from all aches and pains after a long long time 🙂

1. Stress and anxiety – Lugging around extra muscles tensions can cause inflammation that can lead to excess of stress hormones, which can cause mood swings. Massages can increase the production of a hormone called oxytocin and create positive emotions.

2. Blood pressure – Deep Tissue Massage also helps reduce blood pressure and cortisol levels.

3. Chronic back pain – Deep Tissue Massage will be able to relieve chronic back pain by loosening the muscles and improve circulation in those areas in the back.

4. Labor pain & delivery – This therapy can lower anxiety in expecting mothers. A Deep Tissue Massage before and after labor can increase pain threshold, and decrease leg and back pain.

5. Scar Tissue – Deep Tissue Massages can help break up newly forming scar tissue after an injury. Scar tissue can slow down recovery process and cause stiffness.

The Results of the Spa

We took the spa for 90 minutes during which we literally felt every part of our joints open up. Forget about laughing at each other as planned, we even forgot to look at each other after a while because we were enjoying the session so much. After the massage, Vidur said that for the first time in many years, he couldn’t feel any pain in his back. The massage at Tattva Spa was that good!

Gifting a spa to your Valentine is probably the best thing. Not only do you help each other relax but you are also spending some quality and private moments with each other.  Moreover, for those who love travelling like us and suffer from body aches, then this is definitely for you.
